Train delay

Miss C is going to have a long wait for a train at this particular station - it was decommissioned decades ago and is now part of the Flitch Way cycle route and sports a fine cafe.

But for our purposes it was spot on - recreating the gold age of travel and the story of a 1940's glamorous female traveller awaiting her next adventure.

Miss C rocks the vintage look and I've had this luggage (with vintage style travel stickers) for ages looking for the right location and the right model.  The right things come together eventually.

Train delays?  Nothing changes.

Sand (y) in my website

I have my website hosted by a company in New York (long story) and this might be my last post for a few days as they face some pretty terrible weather and have warned their servers may run out of juice fairly shortly.

So I thought I'd save one of my best from the sequence with Crimson Blush, Essex burlesque artist and model.

A very glamorous and classical pose that works well because, by this time in the shoot, Crimson was really relaxed and into the flow of things.  The moment a model stops thinking of what they are doing and just does it you typically get your best shots.

Good luck Squarespace and New York.

Vintage

Appreciation of vintage seems to grow everyday and I've been fortunate enough to be exposed to it in several ways.

From a photography perspective I had had the opportunity to work with models such as Crimson Blush (featured here), Stephanie Jay and Cherrie Mae.  Near where I live there are vintage markets and some amazing vintage businesses such as Make Do and Mend run by Hannah Elgie.

So the interest is growing, a range of fantastic models are rocking the look and some great businesses are launching in this space.

Taking photographs with a digital camera may not be vintage but the results can certainly be given that look.

Back to the future ;-)

The weakest link

A morning spent at a vintage rock 'n roll show was a morning well spent.  Great people, stunning cars and some tip top music.

Some of the cars were in beautiful condition, some of the hot rods were heavily modified but all of them were the property of people who cared about them.  However not all of the modifications seemed very practical.

I think you can see the challenges this will provide but it does look cool.
