Wonderland

I love shooting in studios as they provide the opportunity to control your environment and create results the real world just won't permit.  My wife saw the shot below and instantly named it Wonderland.

I spent a day at the Dieselpunk Studio's in Wickford and was shooting with a number of models, the results of which you will see on my photography blog over the next few weeks.

Nicole was a dream to work with - effortlessly flowing from pose to pose and varying her expressions as the mood took her.  She also poses the longest legs I think I have ever seen.

Step aside Alice, Nicole is in town.

White stripes

Want to entertain the kids and the adults at your wedding - then I recommend a bouncy castle.

For the wedding of Clare and Dean they organised a bouncy castle and, as the images will show, there were more adults using it than kids.

For a few moments the adults were kind enough to let the kids dominate and I caught this beautiful combination of the white of a bridesmaids dress against the vibrant colours of the bouncy castle.

I suspect we never truly grow up.

Guest post

During a wedding the focus is primarily on the bride and groom but for the bride and groom I always notice how much they are thinking about everyone else.  So for this blog post I thought I would choose some of the images of the guests.

I was lucky enough to be chosen as the wedding photographer for Sarah and Steve's wedding in Essex recently on recommendation from a friend.  The wedding was in a small chapel in a private school and it was a lovely venue.

So let's take a look at some of the guests.

A round of applause for the wedding guests I think.

Beauty and the beast

A good friend of mine is Alison 'Blades of Payne' a member of the Killahurtz Roller Derby team and it was Alison who organised for me to take the official portraits of each member of the team (she's the beauty).

The portrait shoot also involved some of the male members of the team who support the skaters and I introduce Wildabeast Nolan.  A non skating official he (and a few others yet to be revealed) are a vital part of the team.

Go and check them all out on their website.

Ultra Magnus

I'm loving the names of the individual members of the Killa Hurtz Roller Derby team and here is another.

For those not in the know Ultra Magnus is a Transformers character and is famed for:

  • Improvisation
  • Courage
  • Fighting skills

It would seem to me that these skills are just as handy in roller Derby as they are in the battles against the Decepticons.

Ultra Magnus can also turn into a car transport but I can't see a place for that in roller derby.
