Trick the light fantastic

A deliberate twisting of the headline I promise.

This fashion photoshoot image was taken early in 2011 and, despite first appearances, was not taken in a boxing ring but in a nightclub in the middle of the day.  We will come back to the boxing ring idea in another post.

Francesca is a fantastic model - a combination of the grace, elegance and sensuality of her Spanish and Italian parents.  We used the light, in this case the absence of light, to remove the distractions of a nightclub and create the illusion of the ropes of a boxing ring.  This allowed us to use harsh light to create the deep shadows you'd normally avoid in a beauty portrait shoot.
